  MC 5 crashing and fx

  Hi Chaps

  I am working on a project which will be shared across 6 work stations, it has 500 hours of rushes at the moment with more to come. The first week on this job has had crashing issues and fx issues.

  1) I am working mainly from sync pulls with no problem, but when I go into bins with the original clips (not grouped clips) the avid throws up a run time error and shuts down. This can happen at totally random times.

  2) BCC 6 is installed and so far I have only tried 2 fx: glow and lens flare (both advanced and normal). It is the lens flare that is confusing me. In previous versions of avid I have been able to put an effect over a piece of media modify this effect and the save the effect to a bin, so I can apply the same effect elsewhere. Normal yes? However with the lens flare and so fare only the lens flare, if I drop the effect elsewhere on the timeline, it may work it may not! sometimes it will shift the keyframe parameters, or sometimes once rendered the effect just won’t be there.

  If anyone has had a similar experience or knows fixes or workarounds I would be very appreciative. This project is going to get tougher very soon and really need it to work.
