Avid Won’t Recognize BETA deck
I’m working with a documentary film director.
He wants about 70 old BETA SP tapes saved as Quicktimes for archiving. He has a Mac Platform with an older Avid (Adreneline, Media Composer 3)
His system was wired by an engineer about 18 months ago and there has been little or no capturing from tape since then (mostly importing P2 footage).
He has several sources of input (BETA, DV, HD Tape etc.)
They all run through a patch-bay then out to the Adreneline Box.
The Audio runs through a mixer then out to the Adreneline with an XLR.I can’t get the Capture tool to recognize the BETA deck.
I’d even be willing to Capture on the fly (without logging clips) if I had to… but it won’t recognize a video signal. In the Capture tool I select:
Video: Component & Audio: XLRThe Video Input tool is on Component.
In Deck Configuration I select:
Sony PVW-2800
Port- I’ve tried both Key Serial 1 and USA28Xfd51P2.2…. (both of them on “Direct”).I checked to make sure buttons on the patch-bay were correct.
I also tried Autoconfigure…… it still says “No Deck”.
What’s interesting is that the first time I tried Autoconfigure the DV deck was accidently left powered on (Sony DSR-60).
The Autoconfigure recognized the DV deck (eventhough I had the patch bay set to the BETA)
I’ve tried Autoconfigure with the patch-bay set to different deck inputs.Any Suggestions???
