  Media Composer export QT Ref at 720×486 any way to fix to 720×480?

  I’ve upgraded from Express Pro to Media Composer and I’m trying to use my old workflow to make DVDs in Encore. There’s a serious problem. Even though I’m working with DV25 footage, my quicktime reference file shows up as 720×486 instead of 480. Encore doesn’t seem to handle this correctly, as it seems to resize the video rather than cropping it.

  As you can imagine, the video looks like crap. My original workflow was to export QT Ref plus mixdown audio with use avid dv codec turned off, because with it ON I would get 486 lines, and on older versions of encore it would crash the program. Now it seems I get 486 with or without Avid codec, and the footage looks better with avid codec ON.

  Is there a preference that could fix or cause that issue? I think these new projects were recorded with MXF media instead of omf as I had always worked before.

  Any ideas? Actual experience with this issue?

  not sure you can export 480 since your video is 486. should be able to manuever around this in encore somehow… has to be a way to change output in encore to not be 486?
