I am trying to record a clip of dialogue on a Macbook Pro using either an internal or an external mic. I toggle the external deck off, enter a tape name, select A1 and TC buttons as tracks to record, I can see audio levels in the audio tool, I push the record button and the A! button toggles off and the following error is displayed – “Exception: No tracks have been chosen. Please select at least one track”. There was a track selected and now there isn’t. The audio records fine in other applications.

I am using Media Composer vers. 3.1.3 on a 17″ Macbook Pro 2.93 GHz

    Anyone know why this happens?

If you deselect the TC track does it work?

Have you tried using the audio punch in tool?

    Thanks for the response.
Deselecting TC does not help. The audio punch in tool does work but I would still like to fix the original problem.

Can you just record in the other applications and import the resulting audio?

Yes, I can record in another application but would still like to fix the problem. I was hoping that I had an incorrect setting or something along those lines.

I’m not quite sure, I was hoping the punch in would be a valid workaround for you.

What is the project type? Have you tried other projects/project types as a test?

What kind of mic do you have and how is it lined into the computer? Are you running it into an Avid breakout box (Mojo, MojoDX, NitrisDX?).
