Media Unrenders Itself
Posted by Simon Thorpe on December 8, 2009 at 6:13 pmHi
I have been running Avid Xpress Pro 4.0.1 and have been finding that recently it has been crashing and displaying the ‘Exception’ message. On restarting, I have been finding that some of my sequnces have become unrendered.
Has anyone experienced anything like this before?

December 8, 2009 at 6:34 pmThis is probably due to the crash. I would focus more on what the crash is then it coming up unrendered.
Do you have the exact error, and under what circumstances it crashes?
A full list of system specs would also be helpful.

It appears to crash like this randomly; sometimes when I’m trying to access footage from another bin in another project or when I simply try and put a dissolve or resize on a clip.
I have to restart Avid then I find my sequnces unrendered and sometimes large chunks of media offline…

December 14, 2009 at 7:19 pmIt sounds like you may have some corruption somewhere in the timeline or media.
Have you trashed the Media Database files?
Here are some links to help you troubleshoot corruption:
