    ——————————–
working on a 2 hour sd pal show that needs to have 2 hours worth of sms’s from the viewers (not live)
all the sms’s come through in a word doc daily and i would ideally like to paste into a text crawl plugin in fcp (news ticker style – single line running from right to left)

my problem is that apples fcp text crawl cant have more than 5 minutes of text before it displays the characters as jumbled and alex gollner’s improved free fcp text crawl takes 4 days to render on my macbook pro 2.16ghz, cant for the life of me work out the boris title crawl i can only get it to do multi line text crawls

does anyone have a solution for me
either any other suitable plugins or ay other apps that will work with fcp
would be great if it was in realtime as well 8)

The only hickup I can think of is rendering a precompute that large. Even when just mixing down a show, I’m now in the habbit of doing it in 30 minute chunks just to avoid these hickups. If 4 30 min. crawls are an option, that’s what I’d go for.

    4 x 30min chunks would be good

in fcp i am doing 5mins at a time

so media composer doesnt have problems with long strings of text like fcp does?

No. The drag can be getting lost in your verbage… or trying the find a word to revise later. It’s precompute is it’s current handicap with this, not the crawl itself.

Or prebuild in After Effects and then you can use it in FCP or Avid.
