    Hi all,

I am hoping to get some advice on devising a work-flow between Avid and FCP.

Here is what we are trying to do: We have a feature which is being assembly cut by many assistants, mostly working on FCP, but due to the access in several suites, some scenes will be cut on Avid. The files we are working with are RED files converted to DVCPro 1280 x 720 Quicktimes.

The lead editor will be working on FCP, so we will need some way of taking the scenes cut on Avid back to FCP, using an EDL or what-ever is the best method…

What I’m looking for is that method! Any advice greatly appreciated.

    Cheers,
    Peta

Are you using double system sound (meaning: recording and importing sound separately, then syncing in the editing application)? If so: do yourself a favor and forget about it, or be prepared to manually conform the scenes, shot by shot, clip by clip, soundclip by soundclip, effect by effect.
