  Capturing HDV on Avid

  Having trouble capturing HDV material on avid media composer…getting error message; EXCEPTION VIDEO SIGNAL PRESENT BUT NOT CAPTURED

  Is this a snow leopard problem? System worked fine before I installed

  Before this I always need to name tape again after DV DEVICE MISSED STARTING TIMECODE DROP FRAME (message)

  Was on the Avid site the other day and Snow leopard is not Avid certified yet.

  Highest OSX is 10.5.8 (Leopard)

  That may be your problem.

  Personally, I get frustrated with all the changes and seeming lack of cooperation between the software makers.

  For me, it’s because I purcahsed a “native HDV” adrenaline for $45k instead of a FCP set up for $10k. lol
  Should they survive long enough, I do hope Avid stops their creative marketing shinanigans. I assume they are poising to sell or merge at this point.
