Activity Forums Avid Media Composer Quick short-cut question

  • Quick short-cut question

    Hi All,
Is there a short-cut key so that when you select a track it automatically de-selects all other tracks at the same time? I keep inserting media and forgetting a track is highlighted so that I find holes in the edit later on. Does such a short-cut exist as haven’t found one in my searches so far?
    Thanks,
    Paul

Just like CONTROL/APPLE + ‘A’ selects all tracks,
    CONTROL/APPLE + SHIFT + ‘A’ deselects all tracks.
Do this first, then select the track you want to activate.

    ps.
Also, it’s just occurred to me and i don’t know if it’s of any use, but you could also map the ‘Cycle Picture/Sound’ button (in the edit Tab of the Command Palette).
This ‘cycles’ through All Video/All Audio/All Tracks/No Tracks.

    pps.
If you want to ‘reverse’ your track selection (i.e. deselect selected tracks and vice versa), just drag from just above the Track icons down to the bottom of the TC Track.
