    Hello.

I have an old AVID Xpress on MAC OS9.

AVID has never liked starting up if I was connected to our server here at the office. Now my file sharing has stopped connecting all together.

We’ve tried a few diagnostic/tech tools things with no success. All the needed information is there for connecting to the server.

We’re wondering if it’s possible that AVID has a preference that can be trashed/refreshed.

Has anyone had an experience with AVID and file sharing that may help us?

THANK YOU so much for your advice on this. 🙂

    Upgrade to a new system.

I’ll bet if you add up all the manhours you’ve spent troubleshooting this problem, you’ve come at least half way to buying a software based Media Composer. You’ll have more capability, and all your projects will work in the new system (I may be wrong, but I believe your media will work as well).

I would try trashing the MCState, and see if that helps. I forget where it is in OS9.
