  Working with P2 – HD to SD

  Hello all,

  I’m was able to import into my HD Avid System what I shot on my HVX 200A. It was shot at 720 24PN. I was able to bring it in, but the project will not let me then bring in any SD footage, and when I try to bring in HD footage into an SD project, I get the same problem.

  Is there a way for an HD project to support SD footage or the other way around?

  I know in Final Cut, all you have to do is render the footage that is not native to the timeline. Am I missing something simple?

  In the Project Window, under Format, switch to an SD format.
  Framerates need to be equal, though. If not, you’ll have to convert one to the other.

  I can only choose 24fps. Do I need to convert and which export method is the best way?
