I know this is an AE group, but we all use the same kinda apps…
My Software Avid MC 3.0 PC doesn’t seem to like 7.5.5.

Whenever I’m in Capture mode my (firewire attached) deck keeps disappearing and re-appearing from Windows, particularly when I’m using the transport controls.

I’m almost entirely certain it’s 7.5.5 that’s causing it, as everything was fine until I installed iTunes 8.0 and QT 7.5.5 a couple of days back.

If you read the read me from Avid, it states that the correct version of QT for MC3 is 7.4.5 here is the link for that readme https://tiny.cc/vp6Qx

I always make sure that I have the Avid certified version of QT on my machine. I am not sure that this is the cause of your problems, but I would go back to that version…I would also make sure that I have the correct Nvidia driver.

Yes, I knew that 7.5.5 wasn’t qualified, but I read a number of comments from other users who said that things were working without any problems.

It’s not a huge deal, as it’s my ‘second’ system that I use for doing bits and pieces, and digitising… and my home for iTunes. I’m afraid that the lure of iTunes 8 got the better of me!
