Rotate Footage
I have 2 clips shoot in portrait on a still camera and was wonder how i rotate them in Avid.?

Apply a 3D Warp from the Blend category, under rotate, choose the Z slider and adjust.

Not without massive quality loss. You are best off doing it in AE as Avid has not updated their DVE… well ever.

Ok, ill have a crack at AE aswell and look for a difference.!

throw a simple PIP effect on in Avid and rotate it just a bit. screen grab that for us and upload it.
Then, throw a new layer in AE, scale it down to 50 percent and rotate it just a bit and render a frame for us. You will see aliasing from 1995 vs a a rotated sharp edged box one can use.
If Avid had an editor on staff, I dare say this would have been fixed in like ’96.
