We have a project where the original footage is being provided to us in 16:9 standard definition anamorphic format. The project will be delivered to the client in both 16:9 anamorphic as well as 4:3 center cut. Is there a way in Media Composer to do a center extraction of the 16:9 footage to output a 4:3 image (i.e. cut off the 16:9 on the left and right to get a 4:3 image area)? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

Pan and Scan under the Reformat group of your effects palette.

Set your source to 16:9 anamorphic, and your target to 4:3. Render if necessary.

    Michael.
