I will be working on Media Composer 3 (w/Mojo) on a P.C. (XP) on a upcoming project (that’s what this company will be getting). I’ve been working with Avid Media Composers for 7 years, but always on Macs. My skills are pretty solid troubleshooting the Avid Mac, but I have never worked with a P.C. Avid MC. So I am looking for advice, reference books, websites etc. on working on the P.C, especially with troubleshooting (as there is no in-house tech support). If anyone has any advice experience with this transition I would be very grateful. Also, if you have a basic list of the first things you do when you troubleshoot that would be very helpful as well. Thank you in advance for your assistance.

I just swapped a Mac Meridian system for an XP Mojo system. I think you’ll be pleasently suprised at the stability of XP – it sounds like you’ll be on a new system. As long as it’s an ‘approved’ system, I think the standard troubleshooting applies – delete your MCState, trash the media databases. I’d also get hold of a readme and make sure the video card drivers are correct, and the system has the right amount of RAM.
