  Compression Nightmare

  I’m currently editing a project that is using an AVI created from a desktop capture programme. The problem I’m having is that the avid (MCA with Avid DNxcel) can’t import the original file so I’m having to compress it into something else.

  I’m using Mpeg Streamclip but almost every compression setting I’ve tried gives me a dramatic drop in quality, particularly when it goes into the Avid.

  Does anyone have experience in this or any suggestions?
