Posted by Milton Hockman on March 19, 2008 at 8:53 pmI have an interivew I want to smooth the skin of. It’s an older woman. What filters and settings should I use to make her wrinkles not as bad?

March 19, 2008 at 9:53 pmIf you own Genarts Sapphire plugins, I’d play with the Film Effect. You don’t have to go for that super glossy, saturated look. Rather, work with the glow, glow width, and grain blur settings. Barring Sapphire, you can try glow in Boris or AE.

March 19, 2008 at 10:03 pmSapphire also has a great Soft Focus plugin that’s perfect for this kind of thing. Otherwise, you could double up the video, add a slight blur to the top layer, add a Transfer effect, set it to screen, then lower the opacity. It will give everything a softer, dreamier look.
Michael.

March 20, 2008 at 12:37 amMy tip,
V1, Video of the lady with an exagerate glow
V2, same path of video duplicated with this time a chroma key using color of the lady’s skin. Adjust how you want to smooth with tolerance …etc parameter.Sorry for my french English.

March 20, 2008 at 5:11 pmWell, it’s called something else now…Digital Film Tools had the awesome 55mm plugins for Avid (which had a both a skin smoother and a selective soft focus) but Tiffin bought those plugins and turned them into Dfx:
