    Hi everyone-

    I’m trying to use Avid’s audio punch-in tool to record some VOs for a few news packages that I’m cutting. Currently, I’m using Xpress Pro 5.7 Academic for Windows, and I’m running a Behringer mixer through one of their FCA-202 FireWire interfaces and into my machine.

    When I bring up the audio punch-in tool and try to use it, 2 things happen. If I attempt to select “Host 1394” in the “Input Source” window – which, I assume, should recognize my FireWire equipment – and hit play or record, I get a message saying “The Punch-In device is not ready.”

    When my audio equipment is hooked up, I get a second option for the “Input Source” – called “Windows Mixer.” If I try to use that to record my audio, it appears as if it might work, and then I get the following error message from Avid:

    SampleTransferSpeedStrategy: TransferRecordSamples()
    Error [223322] unable to:
    Lock capture buffer for take.

    It seems like Avid should recognize my FireWire equipment, but it doesn’t. If I try something different, it gives me the above message. Any ideas?
