    Greetings,

I have just purchased a Power Book Pro and about to install MC Soft on it. Curious about the workflow back and forth between the laptop and my Adrenaline workstation.

Is it as simple as copying the media (using MediaSift) and the project to an external drive and putting the project on the laptop’s hard drive? Will the media link up to the project or is that something I have to initiate? And then when I export an omf back to the Adrenaline station, will that omf link back up to the original media?

This sounds a little too easy. Am I missing anything? Any “gotcha”s to look out for? Any advantage to creating MXF media as opposed to OMFI in the future?

    Thanks in advance.

It’s even easier than that. Copy your media folder to your laptop. Then just move your project back and forth. It will use whichever media folder you have attached.

The only catch is that any renders you create will stay with the machine you are on when you render, and any additions to the media folder (captures, imports) will need to be copied to the other media folder. This takes some organization.

Why do you need to use media sift? If you only have the one project on their, copy the whole media folder over, if there are mixed projects, duplicate your sequence and any other clips you want to a new bin, then consolidate those to your other computer’s drive.

    Good to hear. Thanks!

Using MedisSift because I have about 16 other projects on the Adrenaline station. Seems to be the easiest way to single out a certain project’s media from the others….that I know of.

Note that I said…”That I know of”. There may well be a better way that I am missing.
