  • importing QT with four audio channels? how to

    Hello,
Just as the subject reads, I’m on Media Composer 2.7 and seem to be unable a import a QT movie sent to me that is supposed to have 4 audio channels. Anytime I try to, Avid either quits or freezes. Is this possible? or is there a setting I’m missing? I’m kinda on a deadline and don’t know what to do.
    Thanks for any input.

Do the words “you’re screwed” mean anything to you? Avid is still in the 90s in regards to QT. That means two channels of audio and no ability to read timecode.

I believe you could use QT Pro to break out the other two audio channels. Or just work in FCP. 🙁

    Thanks Tcurren,
As I thought. The clips were actually captured upstairs on our finalcut that’s hooked up to our digibeta deck. We wanted to move the project to our Avid downstairs. Screwed indeed.
    thanks again
