    Okay,

Think I have narrowed down my quest for new CRTS to the following options. Wondering
what L’ers may think of the following. While these are not technically “evaluation grade”
monitors they will pressed into duty for moderate color correction and edit viewing. All will be used with component, composite and SDI inputs from VTRS and our Adrenalines.

Sony PVM 20L5 – Have to get it used. Buying new replacement HR tube to make sure I have
strong, problem free SMPTE C phosphors. Have heard bad things about the Sony SDI card,
so going with the ROSS option. Does multiformat HD, which could be nice. 800 lines

Ikegami 80 or 90 series – Can still get it new! Has SMPTE C phosphors. 700 or 900 lines Sold as a Grade 1 master monitor, which is Iki’s sales language for who knows. Thinking this may actually be somewhere between Sony’s PVM and BVM line. Been forever since I used an Iki, and I know many folks swear by them…rather than at them. WHY? Any fans out there. Why should I buy an Iki over a Sony?

JVC DT-V1710CGU – Can still get it new. Value priced. Flat screen. 800 lines. P-22 phosphors though. Little nervous about the color accuracy and uniformity of a moniotr in this price range. But it is multiformat with HD options. Any fans? Anyone using this have anything positive to report?

Just looking for a little real world advice.

I have a Sony Sony PVM 20L5 in our MC Adrenaline room. Installed a few years ago, and it is still working great. Very pleased with it. No experience with the others.
