Strange Trimming Issue in Newscutter Adrenaline
I’m working on a Newscutter Adrenaline on an HP xw8200 with a Dual 3.4 GHz Pentium 4 Processor. I’m having a bizarre problem with trimming, which is this: Say I have a clip which is separated from the clip after it in the timeline by several seconds of black.
In my normal working method, I go into trim mode, grab the right hand side of the outgoing edit and drag the trim into the black clip until it lines up with the next clip of video to the right of it.
For some reason, today, my computer has decided that this is no longer an allowable use of the trim tool. It will still trim both sides of the edit simultaneously, but this single side functionality has suddenly gone up in smoke. What happens instead is that it lets me do the trim, but when I let go of the mouse button, it snaps back to the “0,0” center display, having made no actual trim to the material.
Has anyone else experienced this problem? And if so, how did you get it to go away?
And before you think I’m an idiot, no there isn’t a single frame of picture at either the beginning or end of the black clip, and yes I have sync lock on, and no, there’s no overlapping media on any of the other tracks. This should be an easy operation, and it’s stumping me because it just flat out refuses to work.
(Also, it’s happened repeatedly today in different areas of my timeline using different pieces of media so it’s not that, either.)
Thanks in advance for any help you can give.
