    1. Create a new bin for import.
    2. Select the MXF Format in the Media Creation Settings Media Type tab.
    3. Open the bin in to which you want to store the imported files.
    4. Drag and drop the files to be imported in the bin.

I’ve tried this and it doesn’t work. The settings are the same and everything.

‘You cannot import this file into a bin.’

If you are trying to import clean MXF files you first have to copy the files into the Avid MediaFiles/MXF folder. Here you can create a new folder with the date of the shoot. (From what I know you should not make a folder with a name longer than six numbers/letters and no form for signs), then in Avid go to Media Tool and select all project and the drive that your AvidMediaFiles folder is located (remember to have MASTER CLIP on in the Media Tool options) then the files will appear, just select all and drag them to your perfered bin. Avid will not generate new mediafiles in their own folder structur from 01 and so on. It will read from your folder structur. No transcoding or waiting and all the meta data is with the clips.
