    Hello All,

At my job we’ve just updated from Media Composer 9.2.3 running on OS 9 to an Adrenaline with ISIS, using the Interplay engine. I am a digitizer and I relied heavily on unlinking, then batch capturing my master clips which I created (I digitize Iso footage from 3 tapes that run simultaneously with identical Time Code on each tape.) I would log my first bin then duplicate —-> Unlink—-> Rename —-> Batch Digitize , repeat 3x. ie:\

    Each in their own bins:

    9582 5D Line Cut
    9582 5D ISO B
    9582 5D ISO C
    9582 5D ISO D

I heard that using Interplay I will not be able to unlink my clips – meaning I will have to re log everything each time. That would make my job much more tedious since all of the bins I create are identical- the only thing that changes are the tape name, and the Clip name.

Does anyone have any ideas on how I can duplicate my master clips and not have to re log- without screwing up my original clips from the first tape?

    Thanks in advance.

    Steve

Export bin as ALE, change tape name in a text editor (find and replace) then import and batch capture.

Awesome! I was lucky enough to find this out yesterday from one of the dudes at AVID. Thank you VERY much- this is the exact way to do it- works lie a charm!
