I just got a new version of Xpress pro hd and my laptop won’t read it. When i am trying to capture via firewire and i get “no input signal.” The computer is seeing the minidv deck though. I have configured the deck settings for firewire. Any suggestions? Thanks

Did you have XpressPro on this machine previously and upgrade? Or is this a new installation? We need more information about your system before we can help diagnose something like this.

Avid software is picky and won’t run on just any machine. You may already know this; I just mention it in case you did not.

Lack of preparation or organization on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part.

Have you configured Xpress Pro for the particular deck that you’re using? I have also found that it won’t read a generic firewire deck but only specific makes and models that are in the Deck Configuration menu. How new is your minidv deck? Sometimes the newest models haven’t made it into the Xpress Pro software as options and you can try calling the deck the most recent model of the deck that is available on AVID. Generally, I find the Xpress Pro really finicky about capturing.
