  Can I use a Media Composer keyboard in Express Pro 5.6

  It may seem like a simple enough question, to some stupid even, but I can not get a solid
  answer anywhere! I am basically just wondering before I make the purchase on line if I can use
  a Macally keyboard with Media Composer key caps on a Avid Express Pro system???
  Does anybody know???

  I believe that they are similar with basic commands (i/o, jkl, etc…), however, there are a couple of keyboard commands that are different between Xpress and Composer so there will be keycaps that will be different between the two (insert marker, segment mode keys, add edit), enough to be confusing and counter-productive.
  I’m not sure from your post if you are buying the keyboard or Avid Xpress pro. If you’ve already got the keyboard, you could use the keycap stickers that come with Xpress to make corrections. If you’ve already got Xpress and are buying the keyboard, I’d recommend against it. The best thing to do is to get a keyboard with keycaps that match.   They have a cheaper model that is just a basic keyboard w/ keycaps as well.

  THANK!! that’s what i needed to know, AND FIGURED. somehow i knew it’d be the some slight difference between the
  two that would be just enough to make thing (as you put it) “….confusing and counterproductive”.

  I already have express pro and was thining of buying a media composer keyboard to answer your question.
  i won’t waste the time or money.
