  avid xpress pro 5.6 – supported on quad G5 running osx 4.8?

  a basic yet very important question. I have a quad mac G5 and am running OSX 4.9. I just got xpress pro 5.6 and installed it. my system will not boot back to the desktop and there is a some crazy error messages flickering on my screen. can anyone tell me for certain that the software will run on my quad G5, and if so – what point release of OSX should I be running?

  Thanks – I downloaded the 5.6.4 update and installed it and xpress pro is working fine. it tunrs out it was the avid LE codecs installer that was keeping me from booting/caused a kernel panic.

  any thoughts to share about the avid le codec and why it is needed? I seem to have all of my resolutions intact without it installed.
