Can Adrenalin Hardware monitor After Effects
I need to get a new system to do HD. I currently use the Adobe production Studio with a Decklink card. Being that I am an FX artist first and an editor second, It’s very important that my new system works well with After Effects. I am considering switching to Avid since we already have an adrenalin in-house so project sharing would be a plus.
I am also considering going to Final Cut on intel hardware but Adobe doesn’t have a MacIntel version of After Effects yet and aren’t saying when they will. I know I can boot into windows or run in emulation in OSX but I don’t find either of these solutions acceptable.So as I mentioned, it’s important that when I’m using After Effects I can use the Adrenalin hardware to send previews to the NTSC monitor.

Yes. It’s a seperate installer on your Avid install disc, and it’s called Avid EMP or After Effects EMP. Can’t remember exactly which. Install it, open After Effects, then under Preferences you’ll see an EMP option. You can now use your Avid hardware to preview AE comps on your NTSC monitor!! Very, very helpful. We have it installed on our Adrenaline and Xpress systems.
