Photoshop file of scanned grid paper to be used as background for animation. File is 720x 480 @ 72. Imported into AVID and placed in timeline for resizing in 24P project. Grid lines that look nice and even in orginal file get uneven and inconsistently thick/thin – horizontal lines only, verticals look fine. Is there a way to prepare a file in Photoshop to be imported to the AVID to avoid this de-interlacing artifact?

    thanks!

You will get 2:3 interlace artifacts when going out to NTSC – This is especially noticeable on horizontal lines – try making them a little thicker if you can – softening the edges can also help. You can also try a very small amount of Gaussian blur as well.
