    Hi,

I want to export a static title that I make in Marquee in either a keyable targa or psd FORMAT.
How the heck do I do this? Every time I try what I think I’m suppose to do I end up rendering the title with the background from the editor. I want to take this file and send it to a non-avid system.
The help menu has got zilch on this really.

    thanks,
    Karen

1-Turn off “background” under View menu.

2-Under Window–>Properties–>Render, make sure “Generate matte” is selected.

3-Under Render–>Options, make sure “save result” and “save matte (as alpha)” are selected.

4-Determine whether to export with straight or premultiplied alpha. This is largely determined by the program you intend to use the graphic in. Try both if in doubt.

4-Targas and PSDs with alphas are supported. When you save the current frame your resulting file will export the matte as an alpha channel. A quick check in Photoshop will verify this… even though it nails the graphic to a black background.

Just save your Marquee title to your Bin as a still frame then export that from your Avid Editor. You can choose numerous formats that way, including .psd. It should maintain the alpha channel to (Check in Photoshop to be sure–it’ll probably be pasted to a black background, but there should be an alpha channel available).

    Mike.
