    They are often ‘painted’ out frame by frame using the paint tool.

    Also make sure that you are using a good quality monitor to see the work with a high contrast ratio.

    I addition to the Mr. Hetherington mentions there is also a tool included in After Effects called CC Wire Removal, it’s designed to do just that.
