  Can Avid Xpress Pro HD capture NTSC DV?

  I have borrowed an NTSC video camera so I can capture my NTSC video tapes (I live in Europe you see) but I cant seem to be able to see or find an NTSC setting which will allow me to capture my tapes. Am I wrong in assuming I can do this with Avid Xpress Pro HD?

  Hi,

  Check your project settings – you probably have it set for PAL.

  In the general tab under the preferences, it says my current project is PAL.

  When I try and change the format, (edit-preferences-format-project type) there are only 2 options; 25p PAL and 1080p PAL.

  When I go to log and capture it wont let me select the video.

  Any suggestions?

  You’ve no doubt figured this out by now, but you have to create a new project, and choose to create an NTSC project.
