  • How do I import a 16×9 AE project into Avid?

Posted by Milton Hockman on February 4, 2006 at 10:04 pm

I created a 16×9 bumper in after effects and saved it out as a quicktime movie.

i need to be able to use this bumper in a 16×9 sequence and a 4×3 sequence.

I use Avid Xpress Pro HD.

How do I use my 16×9 bumper in the 4×3 sequence without the 4×3 sequence squashing it?

I know in Final Cut Pro, you can adjust settings for individual sequences in the same project. I am able to create a sequence at 16×9 settings, and then drag that sequence into another sequence that has 4×3 settings, and the 16×9 sequence will look letterboxed correctly in the new 4×3 sequence.

Is that possible with Avid Xpress Pro HD?

anyone know what I can do?
    thank you.

In the effects pallet, under ‘image’, there is a resize effect. Drag that FX onto your clip, and it will fit yoru 16:9 footage into a 4:3 frame.
