    Hey Everyone,

I have a HUGE beta hit (it is only on Field 1) on a standup that I need a guy on camera…I can’t cover it. I have had success in the past of duplicating a frame before or after and it is barely noticeable…but I was thinking (look out!)…I can use “duplicated field” in my freeze frame option. So is there a way to duplicate the 2nd field (where the beta hit doesn’t exist)???

When I’ve needed to do that in the past – I’ve exported a still image, used the video filter deinterlace to remove first field in PhotoShop and then imported that back in.

If you’re on an Avid system with the Scratch Removal effect, you can paint in a portion of an image up to +/- 3 fields away from the problem field. Or do a similar fix in After Effects. Or use Photoshop or another painting tool as James pointed out. So pick your favorite tool and go at it!

I once painted over several thousand negative dirts in a Quantel Paintbox for a made-for-tv movie project.
