  • Can I reimport a Quicktime movie and relink it to edited material?

The quicktimes were imported as no Field Dominance and the media looks all kinds of messed up when played on a tv. I would like to reimport the media with a lower field dominace as DV should have.

Is there a way to reimport the Quicktimes and get them to reconnect within the project. I tried reimporting them and they have a differnt name then the original OMFI, obviously. I changed the names to the old names nad they still would show as offline within the project. Any idea?

P.S. they are running the boot drive as the media drive becasue this is a computer at school and all of the external media drives are broken. I have no idea how they got the boot drive to be the media drive. Is this something that could cause problems? I tried to use my iPod as the media drive also in the above process of changing the OMFI names.

I dunno if re-importing with different settings will save you, but anyways:

It is very well possible to replace the clips. Select them in the bin, go the hamburger and select batch import. De-select “offline only” and tell it to use “force current settings”, which, of course, have to be the settings you want to try out.

Not at an AVID now, so objects can appear different than in message

Sweet. Thanks a bunch. The reimport seems to be wroking, now I hope the motion artifacting goes away when I change the settings…
