I’ve been putting it off for about 10 years, but since it appears that expressions is here to stay I’d like to finally learn how to use them worth a darn. Is there a good book, tutorial, DVD, or web site for just getting the gist of this stuff? Enough to know if an expression would be appropriate in a situation and maybe some basic examples, etc.

A book from a brick and mortar would be great as i’m sitting around for the next couple days.

The COW’s AE Expressions Forum is a great resource and Marcus
Geduld has a dedicated Expressions book. JJ Gifford has a very well-structured inroduction at https://www.jjgifford.com/expressions/

There are other non-COW related sites – Google and you should find a couple of good ones.

    “Expression examples”

    “Expression reference”

    “Expression basics”
