to get my videos out of avid i have always found it easier to digital cut them back to tape and then re digitise them into other programes on the same pc to make dvd etc.

in many ways this have proved easier and quicker than rendering big avi files etc.

Is there a way of exporting files from avid xpress ver5 or composer into good mpegs?

i have tried making quicktime reference files and then using ‘tmpg’ to make my mpegs but it doesnt except quick time reference files?

so anywhere to get a plugin for avid or tmpg?

    many thanks

I thought I remembered seeing a posting about a trick or plug-in for tmpg to accept QuickTime files (reference or not). I will dig a little bit, perhaps someone here knows.

According to tmpg Encoder Express, it supports QuickTime in its latest version as input:

Don’t you have the Sorenson Squeeze software loaded? Doesn’t it have an mpeg option?
