  • Media Files Missing from Media Tool…

We’re on our monthly quest to delete orphan and missing media, and we’ve encountered a new “feature” on our Avid Media Composer Adrenaline (Windoze XP SP1, ver 1.6) I’ve never seen before.

We can go into a project and confirm that media is there and playable. We call up the Media Tool, highlight all drives and current project, and wait for the window to load…and there is NOTHING THERE.

    Nada…Nothing…Niets.

I can go into the array’s OMFI folder and confirm that files are there, but NOTHING shows up in Media Tool in the 20+ projects we’ve done this with.

The Avid “knowledge” base says to toss the database files, which I know works flawlessly on the Mac. On this operating system, I have my doubts?

Any experiences? Ideas? Suggestions? (Other than to switch to a Mac, thanks in advance…)

    Hi Dan,

“The Avid “knowledge” base says to toss the database files, which I know works flawlessly on the Mac. On this operating system, I have my doubts?”

Don’t be afraid. I run Adrenaline 1.6 on PC, and delete database files whenever I have a media problem. I’ve never had any trouble with the system rebuilding the files.

    good luck,
    Carl
