  • Matte Key Effect Parameters…how do I apply to other Keys????

Posted by Jason Brown on July 29, 2005 at 12:38 am

    Hello All,

I have scaled, positioned, and warped a matte key…and I want to do it to another matte key…I can’t save the effect, because it retains the key information when I drag the effect to a bin…

How can I do the same effect to a second Matte Key?

    P.S. I’m using MC 11.0

    Thanks all,

    -Jason

    Hi Jason,

Try ALT+drag the effect from the Effect Editor window to a bin.

    good luck,
    Carl

Hi Jason, Select the segment tool (red button) from the bottim of the timeline and double click on the clip that has the matte key and the warp effect. This will open up a sub track with the warp. Select just that clip and go to effect editor and drag the purple effect icon to your bin for saving the preset. Now go to the other clip that has the matte key and double click on it in segment mode. Now drag and drop the effect preset from the bin to the new sub track. HTH

You guys are awesome…I tried both methods…the easiest I found, was alt dragging the effect clip, it gave me the effect parameters: “(without src)” so I was able to drag that effect clip onto another matte key.

I love creative cow!! Everyone in my office thinks I’m a genius!
