  Segment/lift tool in AVID express pro?

  For some reason my segment/lift tool (the red arrow thing) is acting funny. When I go to select a clip and drag it within the sequence, it kinda moves things in chunks, jumping to a different spot. It won’t let me to move things smoothly exactly where I would like. I was told that there might be some sort of snap to grid function thats making it happen. Anyone know what I can do to change it back to normal?

  Hi,

  Right click on your timeline and select Timeline Settings from the pop up menu. Under the Edit tab, deselect Default Snap-To Edit. That should do it.
