  • how to set Full resolution project/preview window so Boris optical stabilization analysis can happen

How do I set my project quality /preview window to full resolution?

When I right click on the effects preview window the “full sized video” option is greyed out.

I am working on a 1080p project and my monitors go up to 1280×1020.

The boris fx optical stabilization plugin says I need to switch my project / preview window to full resolution so it can do the analysis.

I tried it again with a 720p clip and have the same problem. The full image resolution is greyed out. Could it be because I am running windows 7?

Probably. Avid very picky (not as much as it used to be, but still) about what OS, video card, RAM…

You do have your timeline quality set to full green?

Is this plugin not ‘talking’about the preview window of Boris itself? You find the buttons for setting the preview quality below the preview window.

In case you are trying this in Vegas, please note that stabilisation will not work when you just add the Boris plugin to an event on the Vegas timeline, since there is still the problem that Vegas is only sending 1 frame to Boris. The only way to do this, is to render the event to an DV-avi file, add the plugin to the event on the Vegas timeline, open Boris, place the rendered avi-file on the Boris timeline and add the stabilisation plugin.
