I am a bit new to avid media composer 3.0 and on a mac pro I captured a couple bins and then saved them to my external hard drive. I have brought the hard drive back to my imac and am trying to open the bins in mc 3.0. Whenever I either transfer and open them from the avid projects folder or import or open them from the hard drive, it says media offline when I try and play the footage. Not sure what to do, very annoyed. They’re saved in .avb format.

Thanks for any help you can give.

    Where does your media live?

Keep in mind a bin in the Avid points to the media on a drive, typically an external or seperate drive. It doesn’t contain media, it just points to where the media is.

Try deleting your media database files in your media drive. When you start up MC, it’ll rebuild the media database.
