  upgrading ox 10.4.6 with avid 4.8.1

  need to upgrade my ox 10.4.6, is it ok to do that now? is it compatible?
  currently working on avid 4.8.1 xpress pro and i am in a middle of a project and i need to add hd video.
  will my avid files and timelines be readable once i upgrade? do i have to upgrade avid as well?
  please advice
