    Hi,
Will Media Composer software only, version 2.5.3, preform well with Windows XP Home Edition with SP2? Or do I need to buy Windows Professional?

    Pentium D Intel Dual-Core 3.6GHz
    2GB of RAM

    Thank you

You’ll need professional to avoid headaches. Using XP home has caused all sorts of problems with the Avid software.

Windows XP Home is not supported for any version of Media Composer. See required specs below:

    Media Composer – Windows
Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 2
System memory: 2 GB minimum, 3 GB recommended for HD or high stream count SD projects.
    CPU: Dual 3.06 GHz Xeon
