  Keyboard Playback Problem

  I’m currently using Mac OS X version 10.3.9 and am running Avid Xpress Pro 4.0.1. I’m running my media off of a seperate firewire drive.

  If I use the on screen buttons to play any clip in whatever window, everything is fine. But when I use the keyboard the application unexpectedly quits. Any ideas what the problem may be? I’d appreciate any and all feedback.

  I have more information. My repeated crashes have to do with data access-EXC_BAD_ACCESS (0x0001) with the following code: KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS (0x0001) at 0xffffcf46
  Does anyone know if there is a bug related to Avid Xpress Pro v. 4.0.1?

  I’m using it with Panther on a G5. It’s been a frustrating 2 days of troubleshooting that has yielded no results.

  It doesn’t appear your OS is the correct version (https://www.avid.com/products/xpresspro/specs.asp#mac)

  Thanks for getting back to me, Jon.

  I found out that the original version of Xpress Pro (4.0) was not compatible with Panther, but that the very next version (4.1) apparently addressed this. I was surprised, however, how little this fact is documented on the internet. Somebody’s note on Version Tracker finally cleared it up for me.
