I have a 90 minute video that I would like to put to dvd. I tried quicktime movie file and it turned out jumpy or bouncy. There are no straight lines on the video every line looks fragmented like an echa-scetch. I used 720×460 single field. Does anyone know why this might happen? what can i do to change it?

What’s your source footage ? What resolution was your source dig’ed at?What are your output settings in Quicktime and more importantly what codec did you choose? by DVD do you mean a data DVD or video DVD? Many variables here and its hard to tell without more specifics.

There is a forum dedicated to compression at creativecow and they could probably give you some great advice since the issue is mostly likely what codecs your using.

    Also, try this:

There’s some outstanding tutorials / discussions at the Avid Forum site. Red Ochre is right – if you post your workflow in detail (starting with source material, through the end product), we can help.
