  • Audio Voiceover in Avid Xpress HD 5.4 with Avid Mojo…Not working..

    Dear friends,
I am using a Avid Xpress HD with Mojo on HPXw8000 dual xeon workstation.
I am trying to do a Voicover thru Avid Xpress.I am going to Audio settings and find there are 2 input selection one is DNA and other is RCA.I do not find any Microphone connection in mojo. WHAT is the other option ie RCA.
I tried connecting the Microphone into the machine sound card and selected RCA as input. The VO clip is created through Audio puch but it is blank.
    Is there any other setting…
    Can someone help please…
    Thanks

You found what many people belive is the major limitation to mojo – the audio connections. Do you have a camera you can plug your mic into? Do you have any way to record your VO into another program (Sound Forge, etc.)?

In a nutshell, Mojo accelerates the performance of the Avid software so the CPU doesn’t have to do all the work. The Mojo is why you get as many realtime effects.

I’m not sure recording audio into the Avid was a thought when it was designed. I have (as do many others) an audio board hooked to my Avid’s for getting multiple sources into a single input. The board also allows me to control levels, add initial EQ, etc. I use a Mackie 1402, but there are many other relatively inexpensive audio boards out there for not a lot of money.
