    Im new to avid.
    I am editing on a

Windows XP Home with 2ghz intel
    1gig DDR ram
    256 GeForce FX550
Exporting video via firewire to the Datavideo DAC-100

I understand these specs may suck while editing on Avid Xpress HD 5.
Here is the question: When I edit I can play the timeline on my external monitor but it does now show up on the composer window. When I scrub I can see it on both. I would like to preview the video on both External Monitor and the Project screen.

I am editind full quality DV.
Is there a setting I missed, or is my computer have too low specs?

The thing that jumps out at me is your OS – Avid is certified to run on Windows XP w/ SP2. There have been numerous problems with XP Home…

I’m probably going to show my ignorance here more than help, but, I don’t know how you are getting video out to a monitor in the first place without a Mojo. Is that not what’s needed?
