Avid Editing Effects
Dear Friends,
I inherited the editing job for our movie project from our editor who has encountered some personal issues that need his attention. I have a pressing deadline, and I am a “newbie” at this, having editing only a couple of short projects. I am editing in Avid Express Pro on a HP workstation 4000. The aspect ratio is 16/9 and we used a Panasonic 24p camera.
The majority of the movie is done and ready to go, except for a few details that are major (for me anyway). My primary job right now is to tighten the piece so that it moves along.
Many of the clips in the timeline have sound and color correction effects on them–done by the original editor.
My specific questions are these:
(1) If I edit the clip in the timeline, does it remove the effect like it does a dissolve?
(2) Or does it just undo the rendering, allowing you to re-render it?
I am afraid to cut into the clip without knowing this as I have no experience in color correction or sound effects.
Can you help?
Thank you.
