  “Out of Memory” message

  Got a Mac, Intel based, 9 gigs of RAM, purged memory, yet still get message 3 seconds into render, any ideas?

  Dave’s suggestions are definitely the first things to correct … I’ll just add that, since you mentioned an odd-numbered amount of RAM, there seems an increased chance that you have a mix-match set of RAM sticks … once you rule out the more obvious possibilities, you may need to consider whether your system is having RAM issues in general that are unrelated to AE, but that affect AE.
